EVOEMO project
The concept of emotional (social) intelligence emerged as a reaction to the frequent inability of traditional intelligence tests to predict a person’s success in their careers and in life. This was explained by the fact that successful people are capable of effective interaction with other people, based on emotional connections, and effective management of their own emotions, while the accepted concept of intelligence did not include these aspects, and intelligence tests were not evaluated these abilities.
The working title is EVOEMO. The project is dedicated to emotional intelligence, includes theory and practice on the development of EI, the study of psycho-physiological relationships with the help of a neurogadget that controls facial expressions, body and hand movements, eye movement, temperature, ECG, EEG, EMG and derivatives of these data. Under this course, techniques are developed that allow the student to disassemble various psychophysiological reactions of a person, see their effects on the body, learn to control them, control their feelings and control the emotions of others, lead, persuade, deceive, reveal the truth, compile a psychological portrait of the interlocutor, and most importantly – correctly understand and analyze your own reactions to environmental factors.
Emotional intelligence (EI; English. Emotional intelligence, EI) – a person’s ability to recognize emotions, understand the intentions, motivation and desires of others and their own, as well as the ability to manage their emotions and other people in order to solve practical problems. Refers to flexible skills (English soft skills) – a complex of non-specialized, career-important superprofessional skills that are responsible for successful participation in the work process, high performance and are cross-cutting, that is, not associated with a specific subject area.
Flexible skills, as opposed to professional in the traditional sense (considered in this discourse as “hard”, from English hard skills), do not depend on the specifics of a particular job, are closely related to personal qualities and attitudes (responsibility, discipline, self-management), also social skills (communication, in particular, listening; teamwork, emotional intelligence) and managerial skills (time management, leadership, problem solving, critical thinking).
